  • Switzerland Trail– this is a very popular trail system in both the winter and summer. The trails are as easy as they get in Colorado. Gordon Gulch is a trail system connected to it. It’s a really fun area to rip around in. The rest of the trail goes along the edge of the tall mountain range, which is why they call it Switzerland Trail.
  • Camp Dick and Peaceful Valley are popular campgrounds located in the Roosevelt National Forest of Colorado, offering access to several ATV trails in the area. These campgrounds serve as excellent base camps for off-road enthusiasts. If you like to do some stream crossings for added adventure, you can take the Middle St. Vrain trail from Camp Dick (Highway 72 through Peaceful Valley). When you reach the end, you’ll find great places to hike and some fishing spots where you can throw in a line.

New Riders

If you’re new to this type of adventure, seek out a tour provider that will show you how to use the equipment and customize the tour to your ability and comfort level. New riders and children will enjoy dry creek bed riding and lower elevation changes, which still offer great views and exhilarating trails.  The national forest lands provide hundreds of miles of beauty and adventure! If you want to really make a day of it, sign up for a guided tour and learn to explore the right way.
